Melissa Stinnett Singleton

Melissa Rene Stinnett Singleton, 60, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Duke University Hospital.  She was born in Cocke County, Tennessee to the late Walter Clinton and Margaret Marie Crawley Stinnett and was married for almost 42 years to Sammy D. Singleton who survives.

Melissa loved her church family at Mt. Zion Christian Church where she was a very active member.  She loved angels, the color purple and RV camping.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and beloved friend who especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Camden.

She is survived by her husband, Sammy; son, Brandon and friend Dana Simmons; grandson, Camden; sister, Brenda Burgess and several nieces and nephews.   

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Mt. Zion Christian Church by pastor Rick Webster.  The family will receive friends following the service.
