McLendon Younger

McLendon Mack Younger, 79, of Gibsonville, died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at his home after several months of failing health. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Sidney Vance Younger and the late Mary Farrier Younger and was married for over 56 years to Mrs. Grace Beatrice Powell Younger who survives. He was a self employed roofer and a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mack is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Glenda Y. Slaughter and her husband, Victor, of Burlington; a son, Benny Younger of Gibsonvile; three grandchildren, Candace Slaughter, Macie Younger and Sydney Younger; two step grandchildren, Josh Slaughter and Melissa Christopher; a sister, Jeanette Guthrie of Burlington; and a brother, Alton Younger and his wife, Brenda, of Gibsonville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, S.V. Younger. There will be a graveside service conducted at 4:00 PM Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Gibsonville City Cemetery by the Rev. Olin Tatum.
