Mazie Suggs

Raleigh-Mazie St. John Suggs, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2017. She was born in Wilkes County to the late George Washington and Syvania Parker St. John and the wife of 68 years to Robert "Bob" Suggs who survives.
Mazie retired from the Charlottesville, Virginia Public School System and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed playing card games, flower gardening and traveling to the beach. Mazie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband; children, Dan Suggs and wife Ruth of Charlottesville, VA; Mark Suggs and wife, Cathy of North Port, FL; Karen Suggs and husband, Aaron Shackelford of Lake City, FL; Rob Suggs and wife, Katherine of Apex and David Suggs of Raleigh; grandchildren, Paul Suggs, Jessica Suggs, Jake Suggs, Steve Suggs, Kaitlin Suggs, Briana Suggs and Danica Suggs; sister, Reba Baker of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bemo and Joe; sisters, Elora, Cordia "Sis", Jet, Anne, Burchie and Juanita "Pete".
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bob Stephenson. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:45-12:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
