Max Chandler Taylor, Age 67, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 46 years to Patricia "Pat" Edwards Taylor who survives. Max retired from Burlington Industries Transportation Division and he was the owner and operator of a floor covering business for over 40 years. Max was a longtime member of Lamb's Chapel formerly Haw River Christian Church where he was a member of the Max Isley Sunday School Class. He was also an antique car enthusiast. He was a US Army veteran serving in the 8th Army, Military Police, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. Max was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather whose favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" Edwards Taylor of the home; daughter, Amy Taylor Handley and her husband, Chris of Haw River; son, Lee Chandler Taylor and his wife, Jennifer of Harrisonburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Leigha Handley and Taylor Handley both of Haw River; sisters, Judy Jarrett of Haw River and Gwen Foster of Elon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Taylor and Inez Perry Taylor; sister, Joyce Brown and brothers, Robert and Jerry Taylor. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. James Rosser. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
