Burlington - Mavis Alletta Wiggins Carver, 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on March 27, 1926 in Alamance County to the late Adrian Dorsey Wiggins and Fannie Lee Pattishall Wiggins and was married to the late Edward Harvey Carver, who died in 1978. Mavis was a homemaker and was an active member at Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Carver Barbato and husband, Guy; and Marilyn Carver Williams; a son, George Irvin Carver and wife, Marsha; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Renay Carver Robbins; a grandson, Donald Robertson, Jr.; sisters, Zelma Lewis, Katherine Williams, Muriel Lewis, Ida Tucker, and Betty Andrews and brothers, Hurley Wiggins and Dorsey "D.T." Wiggins.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Fellowship Baptist Church by Rev. Mike Williams with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:45pm Saturday prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
