Maurice "Mike" Kilpatrick, 87, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Hospice Home. He was born September 8, 1927 in Owosso, MI to the late Lawrence and Rose Kilpatrick. Mike had served in the US Navy and had retired from the grocery business. He worked for the Greensboro News and Record following his retirement. He volunteered his time helping others at the homeless shelter or taking people to appointments, just whatever someone needed. Mike was always happy and glad to see you with a smile and a hug. Survivors include his daughter Jeanie Fath of Fairfax, VA; a son Michael Wendy Kilpatrick of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Josh Christina Fath, Jilian Todd Metz; great grandchildren, Annabelle Fath, Eli Fath, Oliver Fath, Warren Metz, Cecelia Metz and his caregiver/ companion for thirty-five years Betty Brigman of the home; extended family, Kent Long, Jackie Cheryl Long, Terry Roger Cobb, Brandon, Tristan, Tanner, Megan, Matthew and Kinsley. The celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 18th, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Barry Lane. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 11:00 -12:30 Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Betty Brigman.
