Burlington, NC Maud Allen Driver, age 96, formerly of Burlington passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Hamden, Connecticut at the residence of her niece, Norma Rapini. She had resided with her niece in Hamden since 2003. She was born in Stuart, Virginia, July 10, 1915 to the late Nathan W. and Maggie Soyers Allen and was the wife of the late Lloyd Driver. Maud had been employed with Burlington Industries for many years and she attended the First Wesleyan Church. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, step children, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Ursi Allen Paschal, Mildred Allen Driver, Lucy Catherine Allen Turney, Helen Sunday Wilkerson and a brother, Nathan W. Allen, Jr. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at First Wesleyan Church, 304 Anthony Street in Burlington by Rev. Dr. Dennis Boone and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:45 until 10:45 am prior to the service at the church. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of the arrangements.
