Mattie Collins

Belmont, NC Mattie Gladson Collins, age 86, formerly of Southern Alamance, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Grant and Fannie Little Gladson. She was retired from Sellars Manufacturing Co and a member of Moore's Chapel Church. Mattie was the loving mother to Lester "Shine" Collins and wife Sandra of Burlington, Lois C. Garner and husband Vernell of Siler City, James "Peanut" Collins of Siler City, Carol Collins of Haw River, Dale C. Buckner of Belmont and Kathy Cook and husband Ricky of Dallas, NC; 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Norman Fargis. Interment will follow in Moore's Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Collins will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8pm Tuesday and at other times the home of Shine and Sandra Collins; 191 Darrell Davis Rd., Burlington, NC.
