Mary Coble Freeman

Mary Garrison Coble Freeman went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Edgewood Place. She was born and raised in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Willie Lacy and Mary Pearl Roberts Garrison.

Mary was a member of First Baptist Church of Alamance and grew up in Sharon Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Bethany High School. Mary volunteered with Meals on Wheels of Alamance County was a member of the Burlington Moose Lodge , Shrinettes and Past Member of the Eastern Star. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Dean Rae Coble and his wife, Lisa of Burlington and numerous grandchildren; sister-in-law-Valerie Garrison and nephews, Charles Ray Garrison and Billy Gray Garrison. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John M. Coble and James J. Freeman and her brothers, Charles Lacy Garrison, James Leonard Garrison and C.W. Garrison.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Brookwood and Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell for their kind and compassionate care for Mary.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 3:00PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jon Helton. The burial will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:45-2:45PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
