Mary Steelman

Mary Louise Steelman, age 91 went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 5, 2013 at The Oakes surrounded by her family. She was born in Caswell County to the late Charlie and Sally Smith Rainey and was the wife of the late Lloyd Thomas Steelman. Louise retired from Carolina Biological and was a longtime member of Faith Bible Chapel. She was also a member of the Ladies Fellowship and the Young at Heart Club at the church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Cornelia Steelman of Raleigh; son, Isaac Ray Steelman and wife, Barbara Wellons Steelman of Midway, NC; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Annie Wright, Carrie Martin and Rosa Perkins and brothers, John, Bill, Pete, Coy, Mack and Joe Rainey. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Robertson with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 prior to the service on Tuesday.
