Mary Skipper

Mary Lois Denny Skipper, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 5, 2014. She was the wife of the late James E. Skipper, Jr. and the daughter of the late Preston and Lois Irene Lewis Denny. Mary retired from the Alamance Burlington School System and attended Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed writing poetry which is cherished by her family and friends. Mary was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her son, Jon Skipper of Snow Camp; daughters, Donna Adams and husband, Kenneth of Randleman, Mary Ann Flood of Burlington and Misty Koch and husband, Darren of Burlington; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Dobbie Davis and her son, Harold Skipper, parents; one brother and one sister. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 2:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. James Black. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
