Mary Rambo

Burlington - Mary Emma Dukes Rambo, 94, formally of Summerville, SC passed away July 15, 2017 at her home in Burlington, NC. She was born in Greenwood County, SC on December 18, 1922 to the late Thomas F. and Janie Rush Dukes and was married to the late Marion Carl Rambo, Sr.

She was a graduate of Ninety-Six High School class of 1941, a member of Summerville Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts.

Mary is survived by her children, Marion Carl Rambo, Jr. of Wilmington, DE, Carole Rambo of Gibsonville, NC and Janie Rambo of Burlington, NC; sisters, Janie Frances Sprouse and Daisy Rodgers of Greenwood, SC; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, J.T. Dukes, James W. Dukes, William F. Dukes, Allen E. Dukes and sisters, Evelyn Latham and Mildred Carley.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 21, 2017 in the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel by James Rodgers with burial to follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am prior to the service on Friday.

Mary's pallbearers will be Thomas Dukes, Roger Hembree, Terry Latham, Garnett Latham, Tommy Rambo, Hugh Rambo, and honorary pallbearer, Warren Rambo.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215 or to Hyde Park Baptist Church, 300 Deadfall West, Greenwood, SC 29649.
