Mary Pruitt

Mary Yarbrough Pruitt, 84, of Tarpley St. passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Hospice Home. She was the wife of the late Winston Pruitt and was born February 17, 1927 in Alamance County to the late Otis and Beulah Andrews Yarbrough. Mary retired from A.O. Smith after many years of service, and was a charter member of Faith Bible Chapel where she had sung in the choir. She and her husband Winston were members of the Burlington Boat Club. She was known for her love of children and opening her home to them. She is survived by her sisters; Louise Brown of Mebane and Inez Poole of Burlington, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Robertson. Interment will follow in Cooper Cemetery at Prospect Hill. The family will receive friends 4-6 PM Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home of a sister Louise Brown, 607 N. Fifth St. Mebane.
