Mary Overman

Burlington, NC Mary Elizabeth Terrell Overman, age 73, of 2278 Huffman Mill Road went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 11, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of Kerney E. Overman, Jr. for over 55 years. Mary worked along side her husband in his business, Kerney E. Overman Construction Company for many years. She was a member of Saint Marks Church and a member of the Circle # 4. Mary was the reigning Miss Elon in 1950. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Kerney E. Overman, Jr. of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen O. Garrison and her husband, Ronald of Burlington, Helen O. Triplett and her husband, Gary of Wilmington, Kay O. Barnhardt and her husband, Doug of Burlington; son and daughter-in-law, Tray Overman and his wife, Lisa of Gibsonville; six grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey McIver, Clara Gibson and her husband, Gene, Betty Church and her husband, Jack, Judy Winstead, Brenda Keck and her husband, Jack all of Burlington; brother and sister-in-law, Carlton Terrell and his wife, Gwen of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brodie William and Rose Virginia Spoon Terrell. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Marks Church by Rev. Ben Bishop and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will meet and greet friends from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. on Thursday in the Lobby of St. Marks Church and other times at the residence.
