Mary Murphy

Burlington-Mary Ruth Murphy, 90 went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Village at Brookwood. She was born in Madison, Alabama to the late William Van Davis and Lillie McElyea Davis.
Mary was a homemaker and member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and making jewelry (beading). She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Willie Hershell Paradise and wife, Shirley of Asheboro and daughters, Rev. Jeanette Paradise Inman of Concord and Teresa Paradise Hicks and husband, Harold of Gibsonville; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willie Paradise, Eugene Murphy and Lonnie Michael; parents, brothers, William Clinton Davis and Billy Joe Davis; sister, Helen Davis.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Edgewood Place at the Village of Brookwood for their kind and compassionate care.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dave Winstead. The family will receive friends from 11:45-12:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will follow the service at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of Teresa and Harold Hicks at other times.
