Mary Jones

Burlington, NC Mary Boyce Jones, age 92, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Twin Lakes Health Care Center after one week of failing health. Born in Alamance County on April 29, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John Richard and Lela Oakes Jones. She was a member of Berea Christian Church and retired from Burlington Industries Plaid Mill. Survivors include her sisters, Nina Utsey of Wilmington and Dorothy Hayden of Burlington and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lucille J. Reid and her brothers, John C. Jones, William L. Jones and Jerry E. Jones. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Berea Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Bland Leebrick officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Berea Christian Church c/o Tommy Thomasson at 3860 Stoney Creek Church Rd., Elon, NC 27244.
