Gibsonville - Mary Lou Flynn Isley, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Hospice Home. A native of Guilford County, she was born June 18, 1928 to the late John Franklin and Bertha Boone Flynn and was the wife of 64 years to the late William J. "Bill" Isley.
Mary Lou attended Christian Bible Fellowship and worked for First Citizen's Bank for many years before retiring. She was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed shopping and loved to bowl.
She is survived by her brother, Keith B. "Jack" Flynn and wife Nan; sister, Pearl Shepherd and husband Kenneth and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Glenn, William A. "Billy", Richard, Odell, Lee and Fred Flynn and a sister, Opal Pearson.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Randy Kidd of Christian Bible Fellowship, Layman Joel Isley and Rev. Hobert Isley with the burial to follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Hospice Home in Burlington, Blakey Hall Retirement Community and the Burlington Kidney Center for the love and care showed to Mary Lou over the past several years.
