Mary Smith

Mary Frances Allen Smith, age 88, of Gibsonville died on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Liberty Commons after several weeks of failing health. Mrs. Smith was born in Alamance County to the late Charles Felix Allen and the late Lillie Mae Allen and was married to the late William Ellis Smith. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gibsonville where she was a former children's Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Smith was an avid North Carolina Tar Heel and Cleveland Indians fan. Mary is survived by her daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Wolfe and her husband, Randy, of Graham; a grandson, Chad Wolfe and his wife, Sarah, of Macedonia, Ohio; a great grandson, Landon Wolfe; a special niece, Carolyn Waters and her husband, Henry, and their children, Hank and Cathy, all of Ft. Worth, TX; and several more nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Billy Smith; parents; a sister; and a brother. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Liberty Commons for their kind and compassionate care for Doris during her recent illness. The funeral will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jim Upchurch. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:45 PM Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
