Greensboro Mary Perry Fender, 92, formerly of Burlington and a resident for the past six years of the Carriage House assisted living facility in Greensboro, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital after several years of failing health. She was born in Nash County and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ina Arnold. She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and was a former employee of Kayser-Roth Corporation in Greensboro. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Wardell and Nancy Perry of Burlington, Charles and Delores Perry of Greensboro and Ronald and Brenda Perry of Burlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Jimmy Matherly of Graham and Becky and Dennis Deutschle of Burlington; daughter-in-law, Ann Perry of Burlington; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a half-brother, Thomas Arnold of Raleigh. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Billy Perry and two brothers. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Terry Knighten with interment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of Pat Matherly, 406 Aspen Court, Graham.
