Mary Eten

Burlington- Mary Workman Eten, age 80, of 2209 Belmont St. went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Eten was born September 21, 1925 in Snow Camp to the late Willie Billy and Roberta Page Workman Walker and she was the widow of the late Russell Eten who preceded her in 1997. She worked for Burlington Industries for many years and was a member of Providence United Church of Christ. Mrs. Eten is survived by her son, Vernon Eten and his wife Janice of Burlington; two grandchildren, Leslie Eten Long and her husband Jonathan of Mebane, and Jessica Marie Eten of Burlington; one great grandson, Connor Long; four brothers, Robert Lee Workman, Jimmy Walker both of Burlington, Gene Calvin Walker of Gibsonville, and Leroy Walker of Florida; three sisters, Marie Shambley, Linda Britt both of Burlington, and La Foy Moore of Elon. She was preceded in death by a son Roger Dale Eten who passed away in 2004. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 15, 2006 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Darryl Peebles. Interment will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8 PM Thursday, September 14, 2006 and at other times the family will be at the home.
