Mary Cox

Mary "Sue" Ellen Highfill Cox, 78, of NC 49 North, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Homeplace of Burlington. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Noel Highfill and Virginia Ryan Highfill Malone. She was married for 60 years to Lee Burkett Cox who survives. Mrs. Cox was a former employee of Kayser-Roth Hosiery and was a member of Long's Chapel Christian Church. She is survived by her husband of the home, daughter, Susan Burgess of Gibsonville; sons, Steven Cox of Haw River and David Cox of Burlington; grandchildren, Michael Cox, Ashley Pena, April Garcia, Amy Nelson, Ingrid Boswell, Kristin Moore and Justin Moore; ten great grandchildren; brother, Bryan Highfill of Elizabethtown, KY and a half-sister, Patricia of California. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Kathryn Moore.
