Mary Combs

Mary Elizabeth Wright Combs, age 86 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Hospice home. She was the wife of 67 years as of April 19th to Robie E. "Bud" Combs who survives. Mary retired from SCI and was of the Baptist faith. Mary enjoyed cooking and looking after her family. She is survived by her husband, daughters, Donna Cook and husband, Hobart of Mebane and Anita Weisner of Burlington and her special friend, Bill Maness; grandsons, Dr. Shay Aimee Cook and Chris Cook all of Wilmington, Jason Kelly Cook of Graham; great grandchildren, Lauren, Caden, Kenzie and Lindsey Cook; sisters, Irene Lawless of Raleigh and Ruby Sutton of Elon. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Andrew and Mamie Berry Wright and brothers, William Wright and David "Duck" Wright. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Derick McKinney and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
