Mary Boone

Mary Riggans Boone, 69, passed away Wednesday, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born December 12, 1946 in Alamance County to the late John Jordan Riggans, Jr. and Margie Kizer Riggans. She was married for fifty years to the late Rufus Earl Boone and today they are celebrating their fifty-first anniversary in heaven. She retired from Food Lion in Mebane, enjoyed gardening and cooking. Mary really loved spending time with her family especially her grand kids.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan Bradley and husband, Destry, Debbie Boone Cook, Mindy Boone Lynn and husband Danny; sisters, Virginia Riggans, Shelby Hamilton; brother, James Franklin Riggans; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; a daughter, Joellen Sykes; a grandson, David Alcon; brothers John Robert Riggans and Roger Dale Riggans.
The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Monday September 26, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tommy Bright with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45pm Monday prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the daughter, Susan's home, 2958 Quakenbush Road, Snow Camp and at the Sister's home Virginia Riggans 22-A Cates Circle, Graham.
