Mebane, NC Mrs. Mary Kathyrn Marks Best, 57, of 4206 Carriage Ct. passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Best was born February 23, 1950 in Alamance, County to the late Wallace C. and Lela Tew Marks. She was retired after many years of service from General Electric and was a member of First Baptist Church of Haw River. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, David Bruce Best of the home; one son, David Travis Best and his wife Jennifer of Graham; one grandson, Ayden Trent Best of Graham; two sisters, Lela Marks of Graham and Ann Alvis of Burlington; four brothers, Robert Marks of Durham, Dwight Marks and Tim Marks both of Burlington, and David Marks of Mebane. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Marks, Frankie Marks, and Albert Marks. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Walter Jones. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the residence.
