Burlington – Mary Anne Crawford Black, 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Alamance Health Care after several weeks of failing health. She was born in New Hanover County on November 1, 1951 to the late Wardell and Elva Gray Sellars Crawford and was the wife of 21 years to William Lacy Black of the home.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved angels, enjoyed yard sales and was wise beyond her years. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, William; sons, Wendell Graham (Teri), Merle Tucker (Cindy), Christopher Tucker (Kayla); step-daughters, Amanda Moon (Andy), Angela Black; grandchildren, Rebecca (Justin), Brandon (Kristen), Bobbie Anne, Shyanne, Christopher, Jr. (Leslie), Tyler, Alexis, Miranda, Will; step-grandchildren, Devon, Damon, Carter, Chase, Brittany, Kyra, Angel, Paisley, Colton; great grandchildren, Shelby, Joshua, Scarlett, Londyn, Kayden, Ainsley; brother, Les Crawford (Bonita) and her canine babies, “Haucie” and “Mia”. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Jean Hughes and great grandson, Waylon.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Long’s Chapel Cemetery by Pastor Darrell Massey.
