Marvin Jerry Norris, Sr.

Mr. Marvin "Jerry" Norris, Sr., 82, of Burlington passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2023.  Jerry was born February 26, 1941 in Alamance County to Charlie and Eunice Norris. Jerry the “Plummer” worked hard to build a reputation of a skillful and trusted tradesman. Along with that, he enjoyed raising flowers and vegetables in the garden with his wife. Jerry enjoyed learning and teaching people about the history of this county and the families here. He enjoyed taking walks at Cedarock Park and at Holly Hill Mall. He also enjoyed sitting outside under the tree with his cat, Butter. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Clifton "Cliff" Eugene Norris.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Rosa Neese Norris; his oldest son, Marvin Jr. Norris; siblings, Coy Norris of Wilmington, Tony Norris of Elon, Danny Norris, Carl Norris, Larry Norris, and Jean Carol Scott all of Burlington; grandkids, Zoie Norris and Trey Gene Oliver; and great grandkids, Landon and Colton Oliver. 

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 2 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Loy officiating. The family will greet friend from 12:45 - 1:45 prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Alamance Memorial Park.
