Martin "Marty" Cox

Martin “Marty” Calvin Cox, 57, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 22, 2019. He was the husband of  29 years to Roxann Leath Cox and the son of the late Calvin Coolidge Cox and Mary Frances Martin Cox.

Marty along with his wife were owners of Cox Rigging, Inc. where he was a theatrical installer, traveling and doing projects all over the United states for over 20 years. They also owned The Old Ski Lodge, Inc. for over 2 years, and Mountainside Delivery, Inc. (Fedex Contracting Company) for over 10 years. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, fishing and traveling on vacations. Marty was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and Uncle.

Survivors other than his wife include his daughter, Amanda Ray and husband, Jason; son, Marty Cox Jr. and wife, Wan; grandchildren, Tadan Cox, Leila and Jason Ray; sister, Dawn Cox Boswell; brother-in-law, Jason Leath and wife, Victoria; niece, Chandler Leath; beloved dog, Bunny and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

A casual service to celebrate his life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Union Ridge Church’s Activity Center by Rev. Dan Ficklin. The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorials may be made to Union Ridge Church, 115 Altamahaw Union Ridge rd. Burlington, NC 27217 and Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill rd. Burlington, NC 27215. The family would like to extend their thanks to the caring staff at ARMC’s Cancer Center during Marty’s sickness.
