Martha Thomas

Burlington Martha Lucille Talley Thomas, age 74, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 at her home on Carolina Mill Road. She was born in Person County to the late Noel Julius and Fannie Gravitte Talley. Martha worked in textiles most of her life and was a Victim's Assistant Volunteer for the Burlington Police Department. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and never met a stranger. She is survived by her sons, Bobby Joe Roberson and Michael Wayne Huey; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Talley and wife Cornelia of Burlington; sisters, Hazel Bowman of Burlington, Juanita Grizzle of Mebane and Elizabeth Talley of Mebane; numerous nieces and nephews and a special niece, Amy Jeffreys. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gravitte Talley and Roy Talley and a sister, Joy Jeffreys. A service to celebrate her life will be held 7:00PM on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Randy Hobbs. The family will receive friends at her home on Carolina Mill Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to Meals on Wheels, 411 W.
