Martha Jessup

Mrs. Martha Horner Jessup, age 60, of 1717 Durham St., Lot 133, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Ila Mozelle Harper Horner and the wife of the late Robert E. Jessup. A former textile employee, she later worked for Stadler Biscuit Co. and Troy's World of Furniture. Survivors include her daughter, Ruby Lee Knighten Hutson and her husband, Chris, of the home; a son, Leverette L. Knighten, II and his wife, Ren, of Haw River; a sister, Nellie Sue Hardy of Graham; four brothers, John Thomas Horner, Leroy Shelton Horner, Eugene S. Horner and Mark Mitchell Horner, all of Mebane; seven grandchildren, Troy Knighten, Vanessa Knighten, Bucky Knighten, Christopher Knighten, Damian Lynch, Dustin Knighten and Thomas Price; and a great grandson, Levi Knighten. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings, Maggie Riley and William Horner. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Pine Hill Cemetery by Rev. Mike Miller. Mrs. Jessup will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until taken to the cemetery for services. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening and other times at the home.
