Gibsonville, NC Mr. Marshall G. Red Mays, 89, of 7160 Power Line Rd. went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Idaho on October 8, 1917 to the late Brady and Dora Mays and was the husband of Edna S. Mays who survives and of the late Carnell S. Mays. He retired after many years of service from Western Electric. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a member of the 45th division and 158th field artillery and was involved in the Agio invasion and the Liberation of Daccau of Concentration. Mr. Mays had a great love for Friendly Lane Baptist Church where he attended. Survivors include his wife of the past 17 years, Mrs. Edna S. Mays of the home; one son, Allen Mays and his wife Diane of Graham; three stepsons, Harold Wayne Madren and wife Patricia K. of Gibsonville, Pastor Danny Miles and wife Linda of Burlington, and Donnie Miles and wife Carolyn P. of Burlington; two stepdaughters, Cherry Howe and husband Carver of Burlington, and Susie Allen and husband Steve of Raleigh; two grandsons, Brandon and Ryan Mays; one great granddaughter, Sarah Mays; twelve step-grandchildren; twenty step-great grandchildren; two brothers, Laverne Mays and Kenneth Mays; three sisters, Vivian Huffman, Mildred Quick, and Imogene Cox. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Danny Miles. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends. Friday, December 15, 2006 from 6-8 PM at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the residence. Memorials can be made to Friendly Lane Baptist Church, 1122 Vaughn Rd.
