Marjorie Neill

Marjorie McClain Neill, 74, of Ingle St. died on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Alamance County to the late Howard Newell and Mildred Freeman McClain and was married to the late Vernon R. Neill, Sr. Marjorie was the former property manager for the Azalea Circle Apartments and the Gibsonville Village Apartments. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, the Gibsonville Singing Seniors and Aging in Action, and the Kempsville Lions Club Ladies Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose, Chapter 947, both in Virginia. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Neill Beavers and her husband James of Chesapeake, VA and Mary Elizabeth Neill of Burlington; grandsons, Patrick S. Newby of Chesapeake, VA, Jefferson N. Newby of Fayetteville; great grandchildren, Jordan N. Newby and Ethan N. Newby both of Fayetteville; sister, Shirley Sides and her husband Pat of Gibsonville; brothers, Bob McClain of Mebane and Donald McClain of Burlington and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a son, Vernon "Bobby" R. Neill, Jr. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Gibsonville City Cemetery by Rev. William C. Zima II. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Saturday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
