Marie Fitch

Burlington Marie Geiss Fitch, age 82, of 1218 Williamson St. passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Hospice Home. A native of Waverly, New York, she was the wife of the late Douglas Fitch and daughter of the late Elmer A. and Madeline E. Geiss. She was previously employeed by Melville Dairy and later retired form Life Insurance Co. of Virginia. She was a long time member of People's Memorial Christian Church. Survivors include her son-in-law, J. Mack Hester, Jr. of Elon; sisters, Patricia McCaleb of Shady Grove, CA and Nancy Circio of Clarence, NY; grandchildren, Andy Fitch, Jr. and Jason Fitch both of Burlington, Scott Hester of Swepsonville, Brandi Satterfield of Elon and Whitney Golden of Burlington; great grandchildren, Coleman and Gina Hester, Hunter, Jeremy and Allyson Satterfield, Caleb and Jackson Fitch. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, C. Andrew Fitch, Sr; daughter, Iris Hester and granddaughter, Michelle Hester. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. John Shields. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Paliative Care of Alamance-Caswell; 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangments.
