Marianne Jones

Marianne Passmore Jones, age 86, of 7290-A Burlington Road, passed away Monday March 18, 2013 at her home. A native of St. Louis, MO, she was the wife of the late William Freemont Jones and daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Rochester Passmore. Marianne was reared in the Lena Pope Home in Ft. Worth, TX where her mother was employed. She was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church and Circle # 2. Marianne attended St. Joseph's Nursing School and Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth, TX and graduated from Technical Institute of Alamance Nursing School. She was employed by Dr. G. Thomas A. Morris until her retirement. Following retirement she was a volunteer at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Survivors include her daughter, Lynda Sue Jones of the home; son, Gary F. Jones of Port Ritchie, FL; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth P. "Betty" Briley Knightstep of Ft. Worth, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Patsy Flynn and grandson, Paul Joshua Flynn. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from the Gibsonville United Methodist Church by Rev. Jonathan Marlowe, pastor. Interment will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery. Mrs. Jones will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8pm Tuesday and at other times the home of her son in law, Deleno Flynn; 7290 Burlington Rd. Whitsett, NC.
