Marian Pittman

Burlington, NC Marian Hughes Pittman, age 86 died on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Homeplace of Burlington. She was a native of Guilford County and the wife of the late Paul Westmoreland Pittman, Jr. Marian retired after 43 years with the Alamance County Register of Deeds serving the last 12 years as the Registrar. She was a longtime member of Front Street United Methodist Church. Marian was a Lady of the Elks and member of the Women of the Moose. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and great, great grandmother. Survivors include her daughters, Connie P. Burfield of Muncy, PA and Paula P. Boyette of Burlington; grandchildren, Christopher Boyette, R. Gregory Boyette and Jeffrey Boyette; great grandchildren, Baylee A. Boyette, Sydney H. Boyette, Nicole McKinley and Jarrett Burfield; great, great granddaughter, Taylin McKinley; sisters, Boots Walden of Miami, Florida and Wanda Hughes and a brother, Robert Hughes of Greensboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, four Burfield grandchildren, John, Michael, Jennifer and Joseph; parents, Robert A. Hughes and Inez Pearl Aldridge and a brother, Robert Paul Hughes. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain MJ Tucci and burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times the family will be at 1322 W. Davis Street, Burlington, NC.
