Margie Williams

Elon, NC Margie Barbee Williams, age 86, formerly of 2136 Elon Ossipee Road went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Edgewood Place. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Hurley Edward Williams. Margie was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and retired from Glen Raven Mills after over 30 years. She loved growing flowers and spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy Williams Porter and her husband, James of Elon and her granddaughter, Julia Ann Porter of Elon; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Henry and Mamie Loy Barbee; sisters, Margaret Kimrey and Ruby Jones; brother, James Barbee. The family of Margie Williams would like to express their appreciation for the loving care given their mother by the nurses and staff of Dogwood Terrace at the Edgewood Place and especially Felicia, also the staff and nurses of Hospice. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Olin Tatum and the burial will follow at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of Julie Porter, 1118 Hughes Trail, Elon, NC 27244.
