Margie Loraine Wilson Underwood, 97, crossed over to heaven at Liberty Commons Nursing Facility on June 19, 2020. Margie was born in Randolph County, Alabama on March 12, 1923 to Edward Fuller Wilson and Mendy Earla Kirby Wilson and was married to the late Clifton Porter Underwood.  Margie loved flowers, and grew many types of flowers. She once had a great assortment of African Violets. She was also a great cook and everyone enjoyed partaking of her cooking talent. She served as a Pink Lady at ARMC for 40 years and was the treasurer of the Wharton Sunday School Class at Gibsonville United Methodist Church for 20 years. She was also a phenomenal quilter.  She retired from Dixie Belle Textiles as a seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Porter Underwood, parents Edward Fuller Wilson and Mendy Earla Kirby Wilson, sisters, Lib Ray, Kathleen Lashley, Sandy Rogers, and a brother, Blakely Wilson.

She is survived by her son Eddie Underwood (Ann); daughter, Judy Smith (Billy); sisters Barbara Ingle (Willie), Johnnie Faye Saul, and Georgia Dixon (Pat); grandchildren, Lisa Jones, Jennifer Musgrove (Jeff), James Underwood (Laurin), Gary Bolden (Dee); great grandchildren Michael Musgrove, Madison Underwood, Parker Underwood, Elyssa Bolden and Chase Bolden.  Her family meant a lot to her.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Larry Lamberth and Rev. Dave Winstead.  The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gibsonville UMC, P.O. Box 82, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
