Margie King Hopkins, age 85, of 719 Dick St., passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Hospice Home. A native of Rockingham County, she was the wife of the late Charles L. Hopkins, and the daughter of the late John William and Gracie Mae Hill King. She retired from P. Lorillard, a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church, the Wharton Sunday School Class and the A.I. A. of the church. She enjoyed cooking for others and really appreciated anything anyone did for her. Survivors include her daughter, Terri H. Overbey of the home; granddaughters, Leslie Ann Overbey of Charlotte and Brittney O. Peters and husband Chris of Salisbury; very special friends, Laurie Yarbrough and Karen and Larry Daniels; sisters, Viona Stum of Charlotte, Billie Jean Pendergrass and husband Joe of Bonlee and Lou Ann Cummings and husband Fred of Gibsonville and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, Virginia Greeson and Katherine Falone Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Gibsonville United Methodist Church by Rev. Sybil Parks, pastor and assisted by Rev. Jonathan Marlow. Interment will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery. Mrs. Hopkins will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory until being taken to the church for services. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8 pm Tuesday and at the residence at other times.
