Burlington - Margie Lee Mitchell Holland, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Liberty Commons surrounded by her family. She was born on September 1, 1935 in Alamance County to the late Charles Mitchell and Beatrice Searcy Holt and was preceded in death by her husband Otis Reid Holland in February of this year.
Margie was a teacher for many years at Alamance Christian School and Andrews Memorial Baptist Church Readiness School. She was a charter member of Beacon Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir and taught Children's church for the four year olds.
Survivors include her sisters, Judy Wood and husband, Ron of Hillsborough and Ruby Carden and husband, Charles of Snow Camp; brothers, Bobby Davis and wife, Eva of Siler City, Joe Davis and wife, Gayle of Graham and Howard Davis of Trinity and her special family, Denise Cheek, Robert and Valarie Webb; special granddaughters, Miranda Carter, Ginger Gisi, Krista Webb and Kayli Layton; three great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Reid Holland and a son, Randall "Randy" Holland; parents; step father, Lynn Holt and grandmother, Mollie Searcy.
A Service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Beacon Baptist Church by Rev. Greg Barkman and Rev. Bob LaTour with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her brother, Joe Davis of Graham.
