Margaret Ingle Spence, 96, formerly of Gibsonville, died at Lucy Corr Village in Chesterfield, VA on Friday, October 28, 2005 after a brief illness. She was born in Alamance County, daughter of the late Lacy Saunders Ingle and Rosabelle Hutchinson Ingle and was married for 69 years to the late Robert "Bob" Julian Spence, Sr. who died on April 14, 2005. Mrs. Spence was a homemaker and a member of Gibsonville Evangelical Methodist Church. In her later golden years she wrote poetry which was published and distributed at no charge, with some of her poems earning national awards. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who was truly devoted to and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Warren Glore of Kernersville and Sarah and Dieter Maucher of Chesterfield, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Linda Spence, Jr. of Browns Summit and David and Paulette Spence of Chesterfield, VA; 55 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five sisters and three brothers. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Paul Speagle and Rev. Tim Blackburn. Interment will follow at Springwood Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 8:30 Monday evening at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of her son, Robert Spence, Jr., 194 Running Creek Rd., Browns Summit and the home of her daughter, Nancy Glore, 118 Musket Drive, Kernersville.
