Whitsett - Margaret Gerner Plummer, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Hospice Home. A native of Guilford County, she was born September 2, 1925 to the late James Monroe and Lahla Andrews Gerner and was the wife of 34 years to the late Robert Arthur Plummer.
Margaret was formerly a member of Mt. Hope Church and later joined Brick Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She had a passion for gardening, often working late hours just making sure her flowers and vegetables were in the best of condition.
Survivors include her son, Steve Plummer and wife, Robin; step grandchildren, Patrick Stokes and wife Emily, Natalie Ward and husband Bryan; step great grandchildren, Jackson Stokes, Elizabeth Stokes and Ella Ward; sister, Daisy Greeson; brother, Connie Gerner and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Elizabeth Gerner, Mary Susan Allison, Mozelle Gerner, Nola Woodard and brothers, John, George, Tom and Charlie Gerner.
A graveside service will be held 3:00pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Brick Church Cemetery by Pastor Geoff LaLone. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
