Margaret Moore

Margaret Louise Gainey Moore went to Heaven on May 13th at the age of 97, at the home of her daughter and son in law, Mary Ann and Randall Hensley of Chapin SC, where she resided for almost eight years. She was the wife of the late Bryce George Moore, Sr. and was born Nov. 10, 1914 in Sampson County to the late Blackburn and Lavonia Gainey. Margaret was a member of Northside Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was avid in her faith until the end. Margaret's life was centered around her family that she so dearly loved. They always brought a twinkle to her baby blue eyes. She enjoyed attending Alamance Indian baseball games with her husband of 72 years, Bryce Moore. Gardening and baking were also two of her passions. Margaret's pleasures were making her family's favorite dessert, in particular, coconut cake and meringue pies. Survivors include her daughter Mary Ann Randall Hensley of Chapin, SC, sons, Bryce George Moore, Jr. of Burlington, Roger Lee Liz Moore of Williamsburg, VA, grandchildren, Mary Bryce Max Dubose, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Margaret Elizabeth Mark Coggins of Blythewood, SC, Grayson Thomas Moore of Williamsburg, VA, great grandchildren, William Hensley Coggins, Mary Addison Coggins, Kate James Dubose and Laura Steele Dubose. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandchildren, James Whalen Moore, Parker Whalen Moore, sisters, Mary Lillien, Ethel Shore, brothers, Simeon Gainey and Milton Gainey. There will be a graveside service 11:00 AM Wednesday at Pine Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Moore will be available for viewing Wednesday morning at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. until being taken to the cemetery.
