Margaret Poe Cole, 74, of Chandler St. passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Montgomery County and was the daughter of the late Ollie Monroe and Annie Mae Deaton Poe and the wife of the late William Sherrill Cole. Margaret was a retired registered nurse and a former employee of Alamance Memorial Hospital and Alamance Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Cole Cook and her husband Don of Mebane, Mary Ann Re of Elon, Norma Jean Fillingame and her husband Bobby of Vanceboro and Jane Cole Stancill and her husband Danny of Ayden; son, Dwight D. Cole of Elon; six grandsons; five granddaughters; one great grandson; and brother, Harold Monroe Poe and his wife Linda and their children of Lilesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, William Sherrill Cole II and mother-in-law, Jennie Copeland Cole. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Worth Watts. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Saturday prior to the service and at other times at the residence. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Ellerbe.
