Marcia Thompson

Burlington-Marcia Pendergraph Thompson, age 58 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 31 years to John Thompson who survives. Marcia was employed with Central Builders and a graduate of Elon University. She was a member of Haw River United Methodist Church and a member of the Forever Young Sunday School Class. Marcia was very active in her church serving as an acolyte trainer and youth leader. She sang with the group called "The Happenings" when she was younger. Survivors include her husband, John Thompson of the home; parents, Glenn and Bettie Pendergraph of Haw River; sister, Amie Pendergraph Perkins and husband, Gene of Haw River; brothers, John Pendergraph and wife, Deborah of Graham, Darrell Pendergraph of Wilmington, NC and Bob Mayton and wife, Barbara of Albemarle, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; her canine children, "Streak" and "Sophie"; special caregiver, Teresa Morrow. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for all their care and support for Marcia and her family. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 12 noon at Haw River United Methodist Church by Rev. Jeanne Neal. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12noon prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
