Whitsett – Malcolm “Mack” Turner Shelton, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Alamance Regional Hospital. Cause of death was double pneumonia. Malcolm was born on May 27, 1934 in Pittsylvania County in Virginia and was the son of the late Maury “Pat” Goode and Florence Hines Shelton.
Malcolm was energetic about life. For years he was a licensed private pilot. Network marketing was his passion because he could work independently, set high goals and help others achieve their goals. In 1993, he became an Avon Independent Sales Representative and quickly built a three generation team of 2000 reps. Their Avon business opened the world to many trips Malcolm and Mary were able to enjoy together.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Bjork Shelton of the home; and four daughters: Fran Fleischman, Wanda Jackson, Glenda Shelton all of Charlottesville, VA., Vickie Fortson of Lawrenceville, GA.; brothers: Gordon Shelton, Larry Shelton and Bobby Shelton, all of Hurt, VA., Billy Shelton of Charleston, SC.; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: David, Riley and Gerald Shelton.
In the 1950’s Malcolm accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord. He attended Southwest Bible College in Springfield, MO and endeavored to be a godly man. He encouraged many people in their Christian walk.
