Major Jones, Jr.

Burlington Major H. "Buddy" Jones, Jr., 53, of Burlington died on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after a brief illness. He was born in Alamance County and was a long-time employee of Hanford Brick. He truly loved his dogs and was an avid fisherman and gardener. Buddy was a loving father, grandfather, son and brother. Buddy leaves behind his loving companion, Annette Robinson of the home; daughter, Amber Nicole Jones of Graham; son, Jason Issac Jones of Snow Camp; stepson, Jacob Edgar Smith of Burlington; stepdaughters, April Lee Smith of Burlington, Mary Katherine Robinson of Glen Raven; mother, Margie Whitehead of Gibsonville; father and stepmother, Major H. Barbara Jones of Burlington; three granddaughters; eleven step grandchildren; five brothers, Robert Whitehead, Jr. of Burlington, Craig Whitehead of Randleman, Randy Whitehead of Gibsonville, Timmy Wayne Jones of Burlington and Greg H. Jones of Micro; three sisters, Penny Jones Little of Mt. Hope, Terri Jane Baldwin of Greensboro and Rhonda Haithcock of Siler City. He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Glen Jones and his stepfather, Robert L. Whitehead. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
