Magdalene "Maggie" Evans Waldrup, 80, of 214 Aloha Drive, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Waldrup was born June 4, 1930 in Alamance County to the late Ollie and Nannie Loy Evans. She was the wife of the late Lester Ellis Waldrup, Sr. Maggie retired from the Alamance School System and she was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Cathy W. Ward and her husband, Tommy of Graham; two sons, Dale Waldrup and his wife, Carolyn of Holly Springs, NC and Lester Ellis Waldrup, Jr. and his wife, Jeannie of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren, Mason Waldrup, Megan Ward, Leslie Ward, Alex Ward, Sydney Waldrup, and Kinsey Waldrup; two step-grandchildren, Shaun Smith and Bryan Ward. Mrs. Waldrup was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Rev. Larry Evans and Mr. Claytoe Evans. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Jones. Interment will follow at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. Memorials can be made to the Carolina Preservation Trust 1940 Hanks Chapel Rd.
