Magdalene Campbell

Mrs. Lois Magdalene "Maggie" Reagan Campbell, 84, of Yanceyville, NC, passed away at Hospice Home of Burlington on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.

A native of Caswell County, she was married for 68 years to the late Hubert Owen Campbell (who passed April 13, 2017), and was the daughter of Willie Gray and Rita Florence Green Reagan.

Mrs. Campbell worked for most of her adult life in the textile industry, retiring from Westpoint Stevens, and had many lifelong friends as a result of her outgoing personality and love of people.

She lived her entire life in her beloved Caswell County, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, and cooking for her immediate and extended family and community members. She shared her husband's enthusiasm and love for their gardening and apple orchard, and together they shared the bounty of their work with many friends and neighbors over the years.

As a faithful member of Oakview Church, Mrs. Campbell served as a member of the church choir, and her faith and devotion to God's word was displayed through her love of singing and commitment to her church family. Always ready to help those in need, she was a true friend to all and will be missed and remembered by those left behind.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by a sister, Alease Irene Wilson, and brothers Willie Gray Reagan, Jr., Kenny Duke Reagan, and James Carlton Reagan. She is survived by a sister, Betty Jean Reagan Glovier, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Campbell and her husband were blessed with three children: Owen Dianne Campbell Byrd (Hal), Jeffrey Brent Campbell (Debbie), and Tracy Lynnette Campbell Chandler (Dwight). She also has seven grandchildren: Amanda Byrd Shaw (Matt), Joanna Byrd Stoner (Charlie), Ashley Elizabeth Byrd (Rodolfo), Emily Campbell Cox (Rodney), Jeffrey Brent Campbell, Jr., Reagan Chandler Gural (Casey), and Emma Chandler Cook (Jayce); and nine great-grandchildren: Campbell Shaw, Marlie Shaw, Rachel Stoner, Jackson Stoner, Ruben Sanchez-Byrd, Florence Sanchez-Byrd, Chandler Gural, Colson Cook, and Caleigh Cook.

The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Bob Hillman at Oakview Church, Oakview Loop Road, Yanceyville, NC, on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home on Thursday and at the church one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
