Mrs. Mae Evans Williams, 87, of 2128 Elon-Ossipee Rd., died Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Hospice Home after several months failing health. A native of Surry County she was the daughter of the late Mascus William Evans and the late Flora Corder Evans and was married to the late Ira Avon Williams, who died in 1993. She was retired from Burlington Industries and attended Fairview United Methodist Church. Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Janice Terrell and her husband, William, of Elon; three grandchildren, Charles Terrell and his wife, Becky, Tamra Johnson and her husband, Rick, and Kimberly Allman and her husband, Rev.Chris Allman; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Porter of Gibsonville, and Mrs. Rebecca Lewis of Graham; and two brothers, S.T. Evans of Burlington and J.V. Evans of Elon. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Oma May; and a brother, Clyde Evans. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jared Hanson. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday evening and other times at the home of her daughter, Janice Terrell, 2460 Barber Rd., Elon.
