Burlington - Madeline Shannon Clark, 88, of Burlington, made her peaceful transition on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the Alamance Hospice Home after several years of battling Alzheimers/Dementia and two weeks of critical care. A native of Guilford County, Madeline was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Alexander Clark; her parents, Martin Hacket Shannon and Ida Howerton Shannon; five sisters and two brothers, all beloved siblings. Her work experiences included Coca-Cola in Greensboro, secretary for Glenwood Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, and the New Directions Ministries in Burlington. She was a member of First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Burlington. Survivors include her daughters, Jan Bulla and husband Rick, Lynne Nunn and husband Mike, Jo McKinnon and husband Eddie; son, Clark Shannon and partner Christopher Cullen; grandchildren, Shannon Nunn Rascoe and husband Eddie, Charlie Bulla, John David Bulla, Amber McKinnon Alexander and partner Regina, and Anna McKinnon; great granddaughter, Emery Alexander and step great grandson Kadin Rascoe. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7pm Friday evening at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington. Family visitation will be at the funeral home immediately following this memorial service. A final graveside ceremony, welcome to all, will be concluded at 11am Saturday morning at Green Hill Cemetery on Wharton Street in downtown Greensboro.
