Luna Hundley

Burlington – Luna Jean Overbey Hundley, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Orange County on June 8, 1936 to the late William Newton and Annie Myrtle Parrish Overbey and was the wife of 69 years to the late Hoyle Morgan Hundley.

Jean was a longtime and active member of Burlington Assembly of God where she served as Sunday school teacher, member of Golden Touch and the WMC.  She retired from Glenn Raven Mills after 35 years of service. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Jean will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Nash (Michael), Debra Melton (Tommy), Gale Barnhardt (Richard), Sherry Willard (David); sons, Steve Hundley (Twila), Tony Hundley; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jack Hundley and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Paschal.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sisters, Pat McGee, Frances Saunders, Sadie Conklin and brothers, Leonard, Jim and Herman Overbey.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Burlington Assembly of God by Rev. Bryan Rainbow and Rev. Howard Thompson with the burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. She will be available for viewing from 1:30-5:00 on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.  The family will receive friends at the home.
